Read what our customers think of our escape rooms!
We've only done the first (easiest) escape so far, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. I was a little disappointed at first that we needed a Host who then wouldn't be able to take part in the escape, but it actually worked out much better then I'd feared and our chosen Host has asked to host our future escapes too!
I've done a few escape rooms at home, and was always left disappointed because they weren't challenging enough. This one certainly was (in a good way!)
Decided to be lazy this Christmas and buy an escape room rather than attempt to make one up %28like last year%29 for my adult children and spouses. I bought the download Christmas one to use on Christmas Eve and ordered the Epic Escapes x3 escape room one to use on Christmas Day. Totally awesome%21 Beautifully presented with lovely wooden boxes%2C good solid padlocks%2C etc. The host is given step by step guides to set up and play. The players can ask for clues which are also provided. Everything about these games has been carefully thought out. Follow up emails show customer service is very important to this company and even telephone numbers are provided if help is needed. %28Unlikely given the excellent host information%29%0D%0AReally pleased I bought this. So looking forward to running my first “professional” escape room%21
First time playing, i was impressed. Set up was great. Although challenging at times the team work helped .
This evening we got to play two of the escape rooms from the box set.
I run a Ranger Guide unit. There are 6 girls in my unit, aged 14-16.
Having used various "pre printed" escape rooms and written a few of my own, I must say these are exceptional.
First and foremost: not only did I appreciate it as games master, but the girls loved the escape room.
I found the set up fabulous, the tick list is so convenient. Being able to find some joy in the solving of the story even when I know the solutions is a great way for me to still enjoy the game from the outside looking in.
Setting the combinations on the locks was a breeze with the clear instructions and they worked perfectly every time.
The hint cards are great. The frustration when they gave in and asked for one, only to find it related to something they already knew only added to the fun, for me anyway...
The presentation is beautiful. I honestly would keep this for the joy of looking at it over selling it on.
The cost seems steep at a glance, but for what you get, it's actually incredibly good value. The little touches, like inclusion of a pencil sharpener, the online timer, the branded lock boxes, go a long way for this too.
I liked that the "methods" were stand alone. So once you had used the constellation guide and opened the lock, it became irrelevant. The girls kept referring back to previous guides and equipment (one of the constellations matches the doodles on the ships log quite well!). Letting them know this fact was the only time any real direction was needed. I was able to leave the girls to it aside from the odd hint card.
For me there is a huge amount of replay ability in this box. So far only one has needed us to write on one of the paper props, which I realised a little late but the pencil rubs out easily enough.
A new unit could definitely lead to a replay of this, and I'm excited to play them all and look forward to expansion packs in the future.
All in all, it's safe to say they are looking forward to the "hard" one, they have already asked for me to allow a bit more time but provide no hints, we'll see how they get on!
